- Vrtkin, Yoseph
- (1876-1912)Palestinian Zionist pioneer. He was born in Mogilev, Belorussia. In 1897 he went to Palestine, where he worked as a labourer, and later as a schoolteacher and headmaster. His writings include a number of pamphlets on pioneering, such as A Call to the Youth of Israel whose Hearts are with Their People and with Zion and A Group of Young People from Eretz Israel.
